Personality
Normal Temperament: [lets say that this is more of a personality / history hybrid]
Giselle hides her insecurities in her personality. She's extremely outgoing, and is not afraid to talk to random people, or go up to strangers. She's very spontaneous, and pretty much open to anything and everything. She bores easily however, and usually has a low-annoyance tolerance. Giselle is extremely driven, especially when it comes to reaching her goals. Not afraid to speak her mind, Giselle tends to come off as being a bitch, but she's really very friendly.
Friendly, that is, but not necessarily trusting.
Giselle has lost a lot of friends in the past, mostly due to reckless behavior on both sides. She'll still surround herself with a group of buddies, but none who are close to her. Giselle is deathly afraid of throwing away her trust, and so she'll tend to avoid serious relationships, male or female.
Oh, and on the subject of opposite-sex relations...
I guess you could consider Giselle a little bit of a slut, since she's more of a seducer than anything. She can be a little blunt when dealing with guys, more or less when she wants to 'hook up' with them. Let's just put it this way, the idea of a one night stand suits Giselle's relationship preference perfectly.
Giselle's had an iffy past. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was nine, and so she's had to live with the vivid recollection of these horrifying events relatively fresh in her mind. Her father was a doctor, so he wasn't really around much when she was younger, and even less after the death of her mother. For the most part, Giselle learned to raise herself, so it really pisses her off when people depend on their parents when they get to be into their upper teens. Giselle fit in well at school, since her gregarious personality made her many friends: none of which, however, were very close to her nor very good influences.
Yeah, about school.
Let's just say she's not the brightest crayon in the box. Sure, her grades are okay, but she's more likely to ace photography than she is to ace math. In fact, she failed her sophomore year the first time around, which explains why she's seventeen in tenth grade. It wasn't necessarily the grades which killed her, more or less the fact that she clocked up a lot of absences that year. Why?
One word: rehab.
Wow, rehab? Really? I thought that was only for washed-up movie stars! No, real people go there too, and Giselle is no exception. For reasons unknown except to Giselle herself, she developed an eating disorder the summer of her freshman year. Since her father wasn't around very much, he didn't notice the irregularities in her eating habits (or the distinct smell of bleach in the guest bathroom.) Luckily, a guidance counselor caught her purging in the school bathroom one day too many, and notified her parent, who swiftly checked her into rehab. She's recovered fine and all now, but still is incredibly tender when it comes to her weight. In example, do NOT ever mention her figure, her food, or her clothing sizes around her, or you'll find yourself either friendless or in some serious trouble.
But how do horses fit into this picture? Oh, that one's easy. From the time she was a little girl -- aka, before her mother died -- she'd loved equestrian. Her mom often took them both on trail rides, and Giselle fell in love with everything about it from an early age. Giselle began taking lessons when she was seven, and started competing when she was nine. After the death of her mother, she became more and more serious about the sport, and threw most of her time and energy into riding.
To this day, Giselle rides mostly English. If you want to get on her good side, compliment her riding or her horse, and she'll love you.
Oh, and did I mention she's a vegetarian?
