Finally! The duo had finally arrived at our new home, the drive was long and seemed as though it would never end, and it was obvious that Amigo had felt the same way, she has never been one for trailering. Slowly Payton stepped out of the tall black truck, looking at her surroundings, It all looked so different from Hill Crest, About 3 times the size, the horses all look so much more happier and well kept, It would take some time to get used to, especially not knowing anyone, She couldn't imagine how she would manage a week without Taylor, Hayley, and Cassandra, Her three best friends, They were never seen apart. Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud ear piercing scream and hooves colliding with the metal frame of the trailer. Ryan Sinclair stepped out of the truck, not even giving much time to look around at the facility, he placed his arms on the box of the truck and folded them, looking at Payton with a stern glare "When do you plan on taking that crazy mare of yours out of the trailer?" He questioned. Payton and her father had never had a very close relationship like most children and their parents, her father was always on her about working hard and always wanted her to be on top of everyone else. When her mother, Paige Sinclair had passed away it had only gotten increasingly worse, as she had no one to tell him to calm down and let things happen gradually. In fact, the main reason they had moved to Fire Fly Fields was because Hill Crest just didn't satisfy Ryan anymore, Payton had no choice of leaving her friends who she had known for pretty much her whole life. Payton's eyes shot from the trailer to her father, she nodded and quickly moved toward the back of the trailer "Sorry Ryan, Ive never done this before, I'm a bit nervous" . She spoke quietly, opening the trailer door. Ryan stepped back and watched, crossing his arms to his chest "What did you say? speak up?!". Payton gave him a quick glare of hatred "Nothing." She snapped, pulling down the ramp. Slowly she walked into the trailer "Easy girl" Her voice quiet and relaxing. Amigo's hind quarter danced quickly in the stall, and she held her head high, looking toward Payton, Two crystal blue eyes flashed in the light shining through a open window. Payton opened the gate and untied the high strung mare, stoking her long red mane "Ryan is being himself, Please be good" She whispered and led her down the ramp. Amigo was unlike a lot of horses, her spirit seemed to go on for eternity, When anyone either than Payton tried to ride her, they wouldn't last 2 minutes, they would be on the ground so quick they didn't even have time to realize what was going on. Over time Amigo learns to accept Payton's friends and gives them proper respect, but until she has gotten her respect, she will not give any in return. Amigo stood silently next to Payton, her head high, ears forward and nostrils flared, looking at her surroundings. She grunts quietly and took a step closer to Payton seeking comfort."It's okay girl, This is your new home" Payton says quietly, removing the long forelock from in front of her icy eyes. Ryan now stood next to Payton, staring at the alert mare, than looking to his daughter "She looks great Pay, I'm going to go check in at the office, I'll be back in a bit, don't move". Payton nodded and watched as he disappeared into the barn "Yeah, you look great, either than the fact that your whites are showing and your terrified and ready to freak out on the next thing to pop up out of know where." She mumbled quietly making sure her father wouldn't hear, rubbing her hand firmly down Amigo's thick muscled neck. She knew Amigo would take twice the amount of time to adjust to this place as she would herself. She had lived at Hill Crest her entire life, The only time she was away from the stable was for shows, and even then, she was never to sure about the show grounds. About ten minutes later Amigo had finally dropped her head, and began to relax her ears a bit, her head stay pressed against Payton's side, and big of movement would send her ears forward again, and cause her head to raise a bit. Payton lean up against the side of the trailer, again evaluation the facility, hoping she could find friends here, and wishing her dad wouldn't come back out from that barn.

The sun was out, the weather was decent, and Riddick was acting good. Ashley sat in her western saddle, heels down and head up as usual. On slight movement or the reins and Riddick would move on command, no fighting. This was very unusual, well mostly anyways. The slow western jog was relaxing to Ashley, and she felt even better that Riddick was listening and keeping his head down. She had done a lot of work with him, and it seemed like it was paying off.
Ashley was almost at the end of the workout. She had put his gaming bit in for a while and made him do some turns and burns as people like to say. She loved barrel racing, though it wasn't Riddick's best event. Jumping was riddicks forte, along with western show. After switching him into his performance bit, that is what she has been working on. Luckily he was being a good boy.
As she was riding she noticed a trailer pull up, and a new person get out. Granted Ashley had only been here a couple days, you get to recognize people around here. She could see the girl seemed a little nervous, Ashley remembered when she herself came here. She slowed Riddick to a walk, letting him have his head and relax, cool out. She watched curiously as the girl brought out a mare. Pretty thing she was, though seemed a little high strung. Ashley was never into mares, though she learned fast stallions are not much better.
After watching the girl curiously Ashley made her way to the gate and dismounted. She pulled the reins off Riddick's neck and led him out of the outdoor arena, heading toward the new girl. Some would say bringing a stallion near a mare was just asking for a disaster, but Riddick never quite figured out much, and he was always good around them, especially when Ashley was around. "Hey there." Ashley smiled at the new girl as she approached. "Im Ashley James. You must just be getting here?"

Amigo began to get impatient, and started dancing, jerking on Payton's arm. Payton glared up at her and shook her head "Amigo, you know better than that" She spoke sternly, and pulled lightly on the lead shank raped over her nose. Without a second thought, Amigo stopped her actions and continued observing her surroundings with a brisk snort. Payton to began to grow impatient, and stopped leaning against the trailer, and began looking around for her father, in every possible direction. Ryan always seemed to get side tracked, and forget that Payton was waiting for him. There was no sight of Ryan, just horses and their owners working in the arena's. Payton decided to take all of her tack, grooming supplies, riding apparel, suitcases, etc, everything she had brought to this place. So she tied Amigo to the side of the trailer and disappeared opened the small tack room door next to her. Amigo instantly began to nose her head in, curiosity was always a big part of Amigo's life, Everyone just figured her wild spirit would never be fully tamed. Payton pushed her nose away firmly and began unloading all her tack, she had never realized how much there was until now, she had different saddles, bridles, saddle pads, and girths for every event, even some run down western show tack, that was her mothers before she had been forced to stop riding. She looked down at the engraved plate on the saddle horn, it said her name in a pretty script font, Her thoughts were interrupted by her dad's voice yelling over top of a passing vehicle "Pay!" His voice was full of enthusiastic excitement and followed by a wave, Payton just stared while he walked closer, smiling. "You seem.. happy?" She questioned when he had finally reached his goal and perched himself in between Payton and Amigo. Amigo's ears perked stiff and she moved back quickly, sniffing the obnoxious man, Ryan looked to the mare and moved quickly to touch her neck, Amigo jumped slightly and continued to keep her eyes on him, He slapped her neck a few times firmly, to him, this would be a greeting to the horse. Amigo instantly began to pull back on the lead rope, and Payton jumped to her aid, the mare calmed quite quickly. "You know she's not very fond of others, and you haven't taken the time to actually get to know her, like you should, now you let me handle her, and unpack the rest of my stuff." She snapped at her father. Ryan looked around, usually he would yell right back and make her do it, but seeing as he was in a new place, and he didn't want to make himself look bad, he did exactly what she said. Payton sighed, and began to rub Amigo's neck.
The sound of and approaching horse got Amigo worked up again, and Payton decided it would be best to untie her now, she pulled the excess rope hanging from a now tight quick release knot and just as she looked up, a handsome horse appeared next to her. Amigo stepped back a bit, than arched her neck out to sniff the horse with a welcoming nicker. Payton looked up to the rider with a half startled smile, she looked kind. "Hello Ashley James, I'm Payton Sinclair" She held up her hand to reach hers, "You got that right, and i don't think Ive ever been so nervous in my life. It's weird being at a new stable without my friends" She replied, her hand still perched to shake Ashley's.

Ashley walked a little further till she was a couple feet from the girl. Riddick stood, his eyes on the mare, a small snort came from his nostrils. It wasn't mean, it was more like he was bored. Ashley laughed slightly, then looked back to the girl as she started to talk. Payton was a name Ashley never really heard often. She knew it was a name, but she never actually met someone labeled with it. "Nice to meet you Payton." Ashley had a very friendly smile.
She listened to the girl. She could remember her first day here, she totally hated it. She came from a school where she knew everyone and was never without a friend. Coming here was a total slap in the face of what reality was really like. She slightly laughed as the girl commented she was nervous. "I totally know what you mean. I had no clue who anyone was when i got here. No worries though, its a nice place." She smiled and watched riddick out of the corner of her eye. He had his ears forward, eyes still on the mare. He then looked at Ashley and bumped her arm. It was his way of letting her know he wanted to go in. She just laughed and then looked back to the girl. "Pretty horse you have there. Whats her name?"

Amigo soon calmed down, and began to chew and rest her head against Payton's arm. Payton smirked, quite relieved of Ashley's words "Well thats great to know, Being such a big place, I thought for sure this barn would be full of snobby rich kids. Meeting you is defiantly a big help against that fear." She laughed quietly, and against moved the hair from Amigo's eyes. It was always a nascence, but it was a big part of her character, Payton had never even thought about cutting her forelock, she would only trim it here and there to keep it a little more healthier looking. "Oh, this is my baby, Caged Eternity, better known as Amigo. She can be quite the handful for people who don't know her, but once you get to know her, shes a real sweetheart" She spoke softly, looking at her mare with pride, than rubbing her velvet nose. "And who's this handsome boy? I'm guessing he's a stallion?" She asked, turning her focus to Riddick.
Amigo's eyes became lazy and tired, finally she had calmed down, this was quite a surprise to Payton, she had come from such a different place. They suddenly shot open as Ryan approached, studying the stallion next to Ashley "Ah, I see your already making friends, you'll have plenty in know time."His eyes now focusing on Payton "I'd love to stay for a bit, but you know how it is back at home, I got lots of work to do." Payton nodded, quite relieved that he was finally leaving. "Yes, of course, I understand, I'll see you in about a month" She spoke quietly and gave him a small hug. "See you later kiddo" He returned the hug, looked to Ashley with a cheesy smile, nodded his head "again, sorry I couldn't stay longer" He added and got into his truck, and slowly drove away. Amigo backed up a few steps and tossed her head back, but returned it to the comfort of Payton's arm when she felt the pressure of the shank. "Sorry about that, that was my father, he's not usually that nice, it's a little creepy to be honest. And he really doesn't have much work to do at home, he has his buddies looking after the place till he gets back, it's just his way of saying 'I'm bored, I', going to go' " Payton explain, looking back at Ashley, hoping she didn't think she was a weirdo. "Mind showing me to my stall, I have no idea where it is?" She added, trying to sound a bit more calm.

..::Ashley James::..::..You Never Know What You Got Till Its Gone..:: ------------------------------------------------------------ Ashley stood, Riddick standing quietly next to her. Ashley was glad to see the girls horse had calmed down, and was relaxed. Ashley glanced back to the girl as she spoke and started to laugh a little. "No worries, i thought the same thing when i got here. People are nice around here though, at least the ones that i have met." she smiled and patted Riddick. "Thanks, im glad to ease your fear. Wish i had that when i first got here." Ashley smiled and started to rub Riddick's neck.
She then stood and watched as, who seemed to be Payton's dad, came and started to talk. Ashley stood quietly and smiled when she was looked at. She was always a really happy person. It seemed the man was a little odd, but she did not judge people so she just observed.
Once he left she turned to Payton as she started to talk. "Parents are always weird. My parents did not even come with me to drop me off. Your lucky in my opinion." ah yes, her parents. Her parents would never have let her buy a horse, luckily a friend of her gave her one, well its a longer story then that. She had known Riddick since he was a foal, so you could say they know each other like the back of there hand, or hoof in riddicks case.
Ashley smiled as Payton asked for her help. She always loved to be a helpful person. "Sure, right this way." She took Riddicks reins and started toward the barn. The stallion seemed happy, he was finally doing something. He was a horse that got bored easy. She looked at the stalls and found one with Payton's name on it. "Here you are, looks like this is yours." Ashley smiled and looked across the isle. "Looks like your across from me!" Ashley smiled and walked next to riddicks stall, switching to his halter and tieing him on the hitching ring.
